Our team consists of experienced practitioners in all areas of our practice, led by Elvis E. Asia.
Elvis E. Asia graduated from Ambrose Alli University in 2007 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2008. He obtained a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Lagos in 2013. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
Elvis was a Senior Counsel at the law firm of Chief Rotimi Williams’ Chambers before founding the firm. He has advised local and foreign clients on various aspects of Nigerian law, including project financing, gas flare commercialisation agreements, oil and gas development, production and divestment, cross-border lending, intellectual property protection, utility-scale solar generation facilities development in Nigeria, and public private partnerships, among others.
Elvis has extensive experience in commercial litigation and arbitration. He has represented clients at all levels of courts in Nigeria and appeared in numerous arbitration proceedings. He has also acted as an arbitrator in a high-profile dispute over share ownership and related matters.
Elvis is a prolific writer, with articles on novel areas of law published in major journals, newsletters, and newspapers globally. His article on the constitutionality of the Value Added Tax Act was published prior to the landmark decision of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, on VAT. He is also the author of the book Oil and Gas Insurance and Nigeria’s Local Content Policy.
